China, Beijing reported nineteen human cases of H7N9 influenza so far this year

Beijing News reported that 19 cases of human infection with H7N9 avian influenza virus have been confirmed so far this year.

Of these, 11 cases (57.9%) were city residents and 8 cases (42.1%) were imported from other parts of the country.

The number of cases was significantly higher than in previous years; 11 cases were reported in the second quarter of 2017, of which 9 cases were reported in April, and 2 cases in May.

Recently, Beijing also found a case of human infection with H9N2 avian influenza virus. The case was a male, 32 years old, outdoor workers, with symptoms of fever, cough, sore throat, nasal congestion, runny nose, chills, fatigue, headache and muscle pain, etc.; the case completely recovered from the illness.
