China, Gansu province: details emerge on most recent human cases of H7N9 influenza



Three human cases of H7N9 influenza have been confirmed Gansu province.

On April 7, Jiuquan City, Suzhou District, the first diagnosed case, the patient had before symptoms onset exposure to live poultry; after hospitalization was discharged on Apr. 18.

On April 19, Zhangye City, Ganzhou District, a woman, 43 years old, with exposure to live chicken trade, plucking and slaughter work, was hospitalized, and currently in stable condition. Before the onset of the patient has been working in a chicken shop, long-term exposure to live poultry environment. Ganzhou District CDC, on April 16 collected environmental samples in the store, and detected H7N9 virus.

On April 22, Jiuquan City, Guazhou County, a female, 47 years old, 10 days before the onset had exposure to a live poultry shop to help, and on April 17 developed a Serious illness, treated in a private clinic; on April 20, the condition worsened and she was transferred to Yumen City People's Hospital for treatment; she diagnosed with suspected H7N9 influenza; test results were positive for H7N9 virus. The case was treated since April 21 in the Jiuquan City People's Hospital in isolation, critically ill, with multiple organ failure.
