Changsha, 4 Feb (Xinhua) - On February 1, 2017, a case of human infection with H7N9 was confirmed in Changsha City, Hunan Province, according to the Emergency Office of the Hunan Provincial Planning Commission.

The case is a male, 37 years old, Yuelu District resident, with "hypertension, hyperlipidemia, heart failure" and other medical history, with prior exposure to poultry, the patient is now hospital intensive care unit. The case of Changsha City in 2017 the first case of human infection with H7N9 avian influenza.

According to Hunan Provincial Center for Disease Control, Hunan Province in 2017 reported a total of 19 cases of human infection with H7N9 influenza cases, of which 5 died. Compared with the previous H7N9 epidemic, Hunan Province this winter H7N9 cases early onset, the number of cases more than two years ago, was relatively high incidence.
