A case of human infection with H7N9 flu virus reported in Leishan County, Guizhou Province

Xinhua News Agency, Guiyang, February 25 (Reporter Li Jing Ya) reporter learned from the Guizhou Provincial Satellite TV Commission, Guizhou Province, Guizhou Southeast Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture, Leishan County, a recent case of human infection with H7N9 flu, the patient is currently active treatment.

It is understood that Qiandongnan Medical and Health Unit recently in the strengthening of pneumonia monitoring, from Lei Shan County detected 1 case of unexplained pneumonia, then confirmed being H7N9 influenza virus positive, by the Guizhou Provincial CDC laboratory review and clinical expert diagnosis of human infection H7N9 Influenza cases.

The patient is a 51 years old, now living in Southeast Guizhou Leishan County. After investigation, the case before the onset of contact with live birds. At present, all patient’s close contacts are under medical observation, and so far none showed symptoms.

After the outbreak, the provincial, state and county health care departments immediately organized medical institutions to treat patients, the relevant departments to actively carry out epidemic prevention and control and market monitoring and management work.

It is reported that Qiandongnan this year so far reported 3 cases of human infection with H7N9 virus; of these, a case recovered and discharged, whereas the other two are currently under treatment.
