___

The Centre for Health Protection (CHP) of the Department of Health today (November 3) reported suspected cases of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS), and again urged the public to pay special attention to safety during travel, taking due consideration of health risks in the places they visit.

The cases involved a woman aged 57, her son aged 22 and her daughter aged 25, who returned from Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

They were admitted to Tuen Mun Hospital in a stable condition. They each rode camels during travel. The cases tested negative for MERS Coronavirus (MERS-CoV) upon preliminary testing by the CHP's Public Health Laboratory Services Branch.
