Avian Influenza Monitoring Committee's report on the outbreak


H5N8 avian influenza outbreak for monitoring the environment , forests and climate change monitoring committee constituted by the Ministry of avian influenza control and prevention measures relating to the review.


  • Mortality within 24 hours Status:
    • National Zoological Park, New Delhi – zero
    • Deer Park, Hauz Khas, New Delhi - Sunygwaliyr Zoo – zero


  • Initiatives:
    • Avian Influenza Control and Prevention continues to move the affected zoos which include:
      • {1}. Continues vigilance and for any dead animal is being regularly examined zoo.
      • {2}. Bio-security measures are being strictly enforced.
      • {3}. The visitors' safety and disease control for the National Zoological Park, New Delhi , Gandhi Zoological Park , Gwalior and a. N. Jha Deer Park, Hauz Khas, New Delhi were closed.
      • {4}. Animal Husbandry Department for monitoring by a team of doctors visited the Delhi zoo.
      • {5}. A doctor visited the zoo and zoo employees affected examined and provided medicines.
