Third case of H7N9 avian influenza died

The 62-year-old man who was diagnosed with H7N9 bird flu last night was confirmed dead at about 4 am.

The Patient has long-term underlying conditions, on the 15th to leave Guangzhou to Zengcheng, on the 1st of this month, fever, cough, dyspnea and other symptoms. The patient was admitted to a hospital in Dongguan from 2 to 3 this month. He was discharged from the hospital on the same day and returned to Hong Kong via Lo Wu on the same day. He went to Yan Chai Hospital, the day before yesterday to the emergency room for medical treatment, deteriorating yesterday, sent to the intensive treatment department for further treatment.

The patient's tracheal secretions and nasopharyngeal secretions were confirmed by the Center for Health Protection (CHP) last night and confirmed to be positive for influenza A (H7N9) virus. The patient reported that he had not been in contact with birds recently and had not been to the market.
