CHP closely monitors two human cases of avian influenza A(H7N9)
The Centre for Health Protection (CHP) of the Department of Health is today (January 23) closely monitoring two additional human cases of avian influenza A(H7N9) in Hunan, and again urged the public to maintain strict personal, food and environmental hygiene both locally and during travel.
According to the Hunan Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention, a male patient, aged 57 from Loudi City who was exposed to poultry, is in a critical condition.
Another male patient, aged 75 from Chenzhou City, has passed away.
The close contacts of the patients remain asymptomatic.
