Bird flu is on the rise in Germany and Europe. According to a first confirmed case of poultry on a Schleswig-Holstein farm, there is now also a suspicion in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. More and more federal states impose stabling.

Bird flu is spreading further and further in Germany. Now the dangerous virus is attacking also on farms: After a first confirmed case in Schleswig-Holstein, a poultry farm in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern could be affected. As the Agrarministerium in Schwerin communicated, it is a private chicken keeping with 58 animals. All chickens had been killed as a precaution. Tissues are currently being tested for the H5N8 virus. Previously, the suspicion of avian influenza - a particularly aggressive form of avian influenza - had been confirmed in a turkey factory in Lübeck. Again, the approximately 100 animals were killed, around the yard a barrier area of ​​three kilometers was established.
