Wild birds infected with H5 avian flu found in Finland
25/11/2016 - 04:24
Finnish Food Safety Authority said on Thursday it was spotted wild birds infected with avian flu in the Aland Islands H5 strain in the Baltic Sea.
The agency said it will conduct further tests to determine whether the strain is the H5N8 that hit wild birds and farms in a number of countries in Europe and the Middle East during the past weeks.
The authority said that the Finnish government would issue orders on Friday for the farmer not to transfer the birds outside the farm.
